... is run on an unofficial non-profit basis by Elaine Miller, a leatherdyke geek.
It’s meant to be a central guide, or jumping-off place, for anyone looking for leather, fetish, kink and suchlike resources, groups, links, hooks-ups, or vendors, or parties in this area.
VancouverLeather, while run by a big ol’ queer, is also straight-friendly.
I was involved in the organization during this period as publicist, but I can’t recall exact details. I remember there was a big dust-up caused by a USENET posting about an event, between NLA:BC and the main NLA organization. This would have been in the mid-90s.
This organization eventually became the Other Side, though by then it was run largely as an informal business, not a formal society with elections at such.
